Mr. P. Harish, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. On instructions, he would submit that the petitioner may present the settlement deed for registration with the respondent within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. According to him, once the same is presented for registration, the respondent shall take a final decision as to whether the settlement deed can be registered or not. He would also submit that in case, the respondent decides to refuse registration of the settlement deed, the respondent shall issue a refusal check slip, giving the reasons as to why the settlement deed cannot be registered. 3. Accordingly, the petitioner is directed to present the settlement deed before the respondent for registration within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On presentation of the same within the stipulated time, the respondent shall take a final decision as to whether the settlement deed can be registered or not, within a period of two weeks thereafter. In case, the respondent decides to refuse registration of the settlement deed, the respondent shall issue a refusal check slip, giving the reasons as to why the settlement deed cannot be registered. 4. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of.
