The petitioners who are members of Sanmatinagar Gram Panchayat submitted a motion for removal of the Pradhan of the Panchayat before the Prescribed Authority on August 10, 2026 pursuant to which the Prescribed Authority, by a notice issued on August 14, 2026 fixed the date of meeting on August 25, 2026. The petitioners seek a direction upon the police authority to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority so that the meeting is held without any hindrance. Though the private respondent is not represented, the matter may be dealt with even in his absence since an order passed herein shall not affect him prejudicially in any manner. In view of the fact that the meeting has been scheduled on August 25, 2026, the Officer in Charge, Jangipur Police Station, being the 4th respondent herein, is directed to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority so that the meeting is held peacefully and without any disturbance from any corner whatsoever. The parties at are liberty to communicate the gist of the order to the concerned authorities at the earliest. The writ petition is disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
