1. This Criminal Writ Petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of an appropriate writ,
order or direction directing official respondents No. 2 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and her family members from false implication in any criminal case, in view of the continuous harassment and threats allegedly being extended by private respondent No. 5, and further directing the official respondents to ensure that the petitioner is not harassed or coerced into acceding to the illegal demands allegedly raised by respondent No. 5 in connivance with the local authorities; or to direct respondents No. 2 to 4 to consider and decide the representation dated 17.05.2026 (Annexure P-4) submitted by the petitioner and to file a POONAM 2026.07.24 12:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

3. Mr. Jasjit Singh Rattu, DAG Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4 and assures that respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala, would look into the representation dated 17.05.2026 (Annexure P-4).
4. In view of the above, respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala is directed to look into the representation and decide the same within a period of four weeks on the basis of threat perception felt by the petitioner and if the threat perception is found to be true then the protection as admissible in law shall be provided. In case, the concerned Officer is of the view that no protection is required, then a speaking order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner.
