ORAL JUDGMENT
(PER: HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE ANU SIVARAMAN)
This Writ Petition (Habeas Corpus) is filed praying to direct respondents No.2 to 5 to produce the detenue, Smt. Srushti U.S, before this Court and to set her at liberty, forthwith.
2. We have heard Shri. Nischal N, learned counsel along with Shri. Ramesh M, learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and Shri. B.N. Jagadeesha, learned State Public Prosecutor-I along with Ms. Navyashree T.G,
learned counsel appearing for official respondents.
3. We have interacted with the alleged detenue, who was produced before us by Shri. Rangaraju, ASI and Smt. Mangalamma, WHC-167 of Kollegala Town Police Station, Kollegala.
4. We have also interacted with the father of the detenue, who was present before us in chambers.

5. The alleged detenue has informed us in clear terms that she has married the writ petitioner and that she wishes to accompany the writ petitioner to Kollegala. She has also sought for Police Protection to proceed from here to Kollegala, since she is apprehensive of harm being done to her and the writ petitioner.
6. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submits that the detenue is 23 years old and has been kept against her wishes in the Government Santhwana Kendra, Chamarajanagar and that there was no justification for the same.
7. In view of the fact that the detenue, who has been produced before us, has expressed a clear intention to accompany the writ petitioner, we are of the opinion that any further complaints have to be considered in separate proceedings in accordance with law.
8. We dispose of this Writ Petition (Habeas Corpus), setting the detenue at liberty and permitting her

to accompany the writ petitioner to Kollegala. The Jurisdictional Police shall provide necessary protection to the writ petitioner and the detenue as and when they make a request for the same.
9. The Police Personnel, who are present in Court shall also ensure that the detenue and the writ petitioner are permitted to travel to Kollegala without any incident or threat.
10. Accordingly, the Writ Petition (Habeas Corpus) shall stand disposed of. All other contentions of the parties are left open.
