2 through the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Raipur, dated 16.07.2026, whereby the learned trial Court has sought extension of time for concluding the trial in Criminal Case No. 5967 of 2019, which is presently pending before it. 2. In the aforesaid communication dated 16.07.2026, the learned trial Court has elaborately set out the circumstances on account of which the trial could not be concluded within the stipulated period, inter alia, owing to non-service of summons and the consequent non- appearance of prosecution witnesses before the trial Court. 3. This Court by order dated 29.07.2026, had directed the Director General of Police, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, to file his personal affidavit explaining the reasons for non-compliance with the directions issued by this Court regarding effective service of summons and submission of service reports pertaining to the summons/warrants issued against the witnesses. In compliance with the said order, the Director General of Police has filed his affidavit affirming that the police authorities are taking all necessary and effective steps to ensure service of summons and to secure the attendance of the witnesses before the learned trial Court. 4. Having considered the request made by the learned trial Court vide communication dated 16.07.2026, as well as the affidavit filed by the Director General of Police, Raipur, this Court deems it appropriate to extend the time for conclusion of the trial in Criminal Case No. 5967 of 2019 by a further period of three months. 3

It is expected that the police authorities shall extend full cooperation to the learned trial Court by ensuring timely execution of the summons/warrants issued against the witnesses and by promptly submitting the service reports, so that the trial may be concluded within the extended period. With the aforesaid observations, the Criminal Miscellaneous Petition stands disposed of.
