Mr. Tarun Kumar Poddar, ….for the respondent no. 1. Mr. Supriya Chattopadhyay, ….for the WBSEDCL. 1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record. 2. The private respondent remained unrepresented on July 15, 2026 despite service. Accordingly, the petitioner was granted liberty to serve the respondent no. 6 a fresh intimating the respondent about the next listing date. Affidavit of service filed in Court today reveals that the respondent no. 6 has been served again. However, there is no representation on behalf of the said respondent even today. 3. The petitioner complains of inaction on the part of the respondent WBSEDCL authorities in effecting electricity supply in favour of the petitioner at the petitioner’s residential premises. 4. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that despite the petitioner having applied
2 for electricity connection and paid the quotation amount raised by the WBSEDCL authorities, the said authorities have not effected electricity supply in favour of the petitioner. 5. Mr. Chattopadhyay, learned advocate appearing for the respondent WBSEDCL authorities submits that the authorities are ready and willing to effect supply in favour of the petitioner, however, their attempts to effect supply failed twice, in view of the objection raised by the respondent no. 6. 6. In such view of the matter, the WBSEDCL authorities are directed to effect supply in favour of the petitioner within two weeks from the date of compliance of all formalities by petitioner, if any. 7. In case, the WBSEDCL authorities face any resistance or objection at the instance of the respondent no. 6, the WBSEDCL authorities would be free to approach the jurisdictional police officer for police assistance. In case, the WBSEDCL authorities approach the Officer-in-Charge having jurisdiction over the area where the petitioner seeks electricity supply, such Officer-in-Charge will afford adequate police assistance to the respondent WBSEDCL authorities to enable them to effect supply in favour of the petitioner. Costs for such police assistance would be borne by the petitioner. 8. With the aforesaid observation, WPA 14899 of 2026
3 stands disposed of. No costs. 9.
