Report filed on behalf of the respondent CESC Authorities is taken on record. 2. The said report reveals that the disconnected meter bearing no. 3594835 can be reconnected in the name of the petitioner upon the petitioner clearing off, the outstanding dues to the tune of Rs.6,696.82/-, and complying with all necessary formalities including putting in fresh security deposit and making payment of reconnection charges. 3. Mr. Halder, learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that reconnection of a disconnected meter in the name of the petitioner might create complications in future. Such submission of Mr. Halder is refuted by Ms. Mitra, learned Advocate appearing for the respondent CESC Authorities by submitting that the meter is the property of CESC Authorities and once it is reconnected in the name of the 2 petitioner upon the petitioner making payment of the outstanding dues and the reconnection charges and putting in the requisite security deposit, no other person can lay claim over the same. 4. The submissions made on behalf of the CESC Authorities have substance. 5. In such view of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the CESC Authorities to reconnect the meter bearing no.3594835 in the name of the petitioner forthwith upon the petitioner paying a sum of Rs.6,696.82/- towards outstanding dues and complying with all formalities including depositing fresh security deposit and paying the reconnection charges. 6. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 3045 of 2026 stands disposed of. No costs. 7. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities. (Om Narayan Rai, J.)
