19.08.2026 IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA Item No.24 CRIMINAL MISCELLANEOUS JURISDICTION Ct.No.35 dc. Rejected C.R.M. (M) 960 of 2026 In Re : An Application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Santipur Police Station Case No. 1110 of 2025 dated 28.08.2025 under Sections 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. And In Re : Asraful Sk ... Petitioner. Mr. Ali Ahsan Alamgir, Ms. Soma Mal, Ms. Rabia Khatoon, Ms. June Modak ... For the Petitioner. Mr. Anurag Sardar ... For the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about a year and although charge-sheet has been submitted, but there has been no progress in the case. Learned advocate appearing for the State has produced the case diary and specified the role of the present petitioner. Records reflect that it is at the instance of the present petitioner, the offending weapon has been recovered. Having considered the incriminating materials appearing against the present petitioner, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. The application for bail, being CRM (M) 960 of 2026, is, thus, disposed of. 2 All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
