The Petitioner complains of inaction on the part of the respondent WBSEDCL authorities in effecting electricity supply to the petitioner’s submersible pump. 2. Mr. Halder, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that although application for electricity supply had been made as far as back on March 18, 2025, yet no electricity supply has been granted in favour of the petitioner. 3. Mr. Mukherjee, learned advocate appearing for the WBSEDCL authorities submits that pursuant to the petitioner’s application an inspection had been conducted by the WBSEDCL authorities, when it was found that neither the meter room had been constructed, nor the to tube well had been sunk nor had the pump been installed. It is submitted that in such view of the matter, the application for electricity supply to the petitioner’s submersible pump could not be processed. 4. Mr. Halder, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has constructed meter room, sunk tube well and has installed the pump. 5. The petitioner shall be free to inform the WBSEDCL authorities about the petitioner having made the requisite compliances. Upon receiving such information, the WBSEDCL authorities shall conduct a fresh inspection and if they find that the petitioner has complied with all necessary formalities, and if the petitioner is otherwise found entitled to electricity supply for the purpose of his submersible pump, in accordance with law, then upon the petitioner making payment of the requisite charges and complying with all necessary formalities, the WBSEDCL authorities shall effect electricity supply in favour of the petitioner within a week from the date of compliances being met and charges being paid by the petitioner as aforesaid. 6. With the above observations WPA 21891 of 2026 stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 7. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied as expeditiously as possible. (Om Narayan Rai, J.) 2
