……Petitioners.
Mr. Bitasok Banerjee
Mr. Abdur Salam
Ms. Debangana Bhattacharya
……for the Petitioners.
Mr. Goutam Dey
….for the State.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that charge sheet has already been submitted before the jurisdictional Court. The son of the petitioners being the principal accused is already in custody. So far as the present petitioners are concerned, against them charge sheet has been submitted under Section 85/107/3(5) of the BNS.
Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.
I have taken into account the overall circumstances including the reasons for which the victim decided to terminate her life. Complainant alleges that the victim consumed poison.
2
Having considered that the principal accused is in custody, I am of the opinion that custody of the present petitioners being parents of the husband of the deceased is unwarranted.
As such, prayer for anticipatory bail is allowed. As such, I direct that in the event of arrest, the petitioners namely, (1) Ranu Pramanik, (2) Saptam Pramanik @ Sattam be released on bail subject to the satisfaction of the investigating officer/arresting officer of the case and also subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 438(2) of the Cr.P.C. and/or under Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
As charge sheet has already been submitted, this order of anticipatory bail will remain valid for a period of 6 weeks.
Accordingly, CRM (A) 1940 of 2026 is allowed.
Memo of Evidence submitted be kept with the record.
All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
