The petitioner is a former employee of the Postal Department. 3. The petitioner is aggrieved that he is not being paid his pension and other post retiral benefits. 4. As admitted by the petitioner, the Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) has been frozen in view of the fact that after having opted for pension from the New Pension Scheme (NPS) from the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), the petitioner was unable to complete the formalities which entailed providing a name of the annuity service provider and other substantial formalities. The petitioner has provided the name of the service provider (LIC) but was unable to complete the other formalities on account whereof 2 the Permanent Retirement Account Number has been frozen. 5. The petitioner has now taken all necessary steps and as submitted by Mr. Bag, learned Advocate appearing for the respondents, the process is in progress and will be completed over a short span of time. 6. In view of the submissions made by the parties, I direct the respondent no. 5 to complete the entire process by September 30, 2026 and upon defreezing the account of the petitioner and remitting the requisite payments due and payable to the petitioner in his account within the aforestated timelines. 7. With the aforestated directions, the writ petition is disposed of. 8. There will be no order as to costs. 9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Reetobroto Kumar Mitra, J.)
