… for the Petitioner(s)
Mr. Sagar Saha Ms. Nayana Mukhopadhyay
… for the State-respondent(s)
Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about seven months and he is innocent. Learned advocate also submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated because he is the husband of the deceased. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and refers to the post mortem report. I have taken into account the nature of the injuries on the person of the deceased along with the factual background relating to the administration of corrosive substance. Having considered the gravity of the offence, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.
2 Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected. Accordingly, CRM (M) 1009 of 2026 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
