JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER The petitioner is before this Court seeking the following prayers: “a) Issue a Writ of Certiorari or any other appropriate writ, order or direction, calling for the records pertaining to Crime No.31/2026 on the file of the 2nd Respondent - - 3 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010520702026 NC: 2026:KHC:42730 WP No. 23531 of 2026 Assistant Commissioner of Police, Central Crime Branch, EDF-I Wing, Vepery, Chennai - 600007, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 418, 420, 424, 467, 468 and 471 read with Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, culminating in the First Information Report dated 27.05.2026, produced as ANNEXURE-A; b) Issue a Writ of Certiorari or any other appropriate writ, order or direction and QUASH the First Information Report dated 27.05.2026 and complaint in Crime No.31/2026, on the file of the 2nd Respondent - Assistant Commissioner of Police, Central Crime Branch, EDF-I Wing, Vepery, Chennai - 600007, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 418, 420, 424, 467, 468 and 471 read with Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, produced as ANNEXURE-A and B, insofar as the Petitioner/Accused No.9 is concerned; and c) Grant such other writ, order or direction as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice and equity.” 2. Heard the learned Senior Counsel Sri.Dhyan Chinnappa along with learned counsel Sri.A.Imran, appearing for the petitioner, Sri.B.N.Jagadeesha, SPP-I, appearing for respondent No.1 and have perused the material on record. 3. The petitioner calls in question a crime registered before the jurisdictional police station in Chennai and is wanting to project the jurisdiction of this Court on the score that the offence is happened here. In an earlier occasion, concerning the same petitioner, the petition was withdrawn on the score - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010520702026 NC: 2026:KHC:42730 WP No. 23531 of 2026 that he would approach the Apex Court itself, as the matter was pending before the Apex Court. The same crime is now sought to be questioned before this Court on the score that the crime has happened here or the property is situated here. The Division Bench of Madras High Court is monitoring the investigation conducted therein. 4. Therefore, as in the earlier occasion, petitioner is at liberty to approach the appropriate Fora in Chennai/Madras. Leaving open the said remedy, the petition stands disposed.
