The petitioner has filed the petition under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 (Earlier Section 482 of Cr.P.C.) with a prayer to issue directions to respondents No. 2 and 3 to conduct fair and impartial investigation in a case arising out of FIR No.101 dated 30.03.2026 under Section 103, 191(3), 190 of BNS (Corresponding Sections 302, 148, 149 of IPC, 1860), Police Station Gharinda, District Amritsar Rural (Annexure-P-1) and to take appropriate action against the private respondents. 2. Pursuant to the notice, status report has been filed by way of an affidavit of Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural) and the same is taken on record. 3. Learned State counsel has submitted that Sub-Inspector, Rashpal Singh was appointed as Investigating Officer in the present case and the investigation was conducted fairly and impartially. However, keeping in view HEMLATA 2026.07.22 10:58 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRM-M-36478-2026 -2- the sensitivity of the matter, now a Special Investigation Team, headed by Superintendent of Police, P.B.I., Amritsar (Rural) has been constituted and the SIT is making continuous efforts to trace the real assailants. Learned State counsel has further assured the Court that the investigation shall be conducted in a fair and transparent manner and shall be concluded at the earliest, in accordance with law. 4. In view of the statement made by learned State counsel, no further directions are required to be passed by this Court and the present petition is accordingly disposed of.
