1. By the present petition, both the petitioners, who are the widows of the deceased employee namely Ganpat Ram Salam, are seeking a direction towards the respondents to grant of family pension which has not been disbursed despite death of their husband on 24/06/2024, who had retired from the post of Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Selegaon on 30/06/2014.
2.
Learned counsel for the respondents, on instruction, submits that the petitioner No.1 is the nominee of the employee who died on 24/06/2024. Though the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioners, claiming themselves to be the widows of deceased employee i.e. Late Ganpat Ram Salam, the nominee of the deceased employee i.e. petitioner No.1 is not having individual bank account in her own name and as per the objection raised by the Treasury, the retiral dues can only be transferred to the account of the nominee of the deceased employee. Learned counsel further submits that if the nominee of the deceased employee will approach the authority after opening the individual bank account, the pensionary benefits would be transferred to the account of the nominee of the deceased employee within a period of ten days. Thereafter, the same can be disbursed and distributed between both the widows of the deceased employee.
3. In view of above submission, learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioner No.1 will open an account in the
3 nationalized bank and she will approach before the District Treasury Officer, North Baster, Kanker on 17/08/2026.
4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record.
5. Considering the submissions advanced by learned counsel for the parties and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioners to approach before the District Treasury Officer, North Baster, Kanker on 17/08/2026 by opening a bank account in the name of petitioner No.1, who is the nominee of the deceased employee and if the petitioners will approach before the District Treasury Officer, North Baster, Kanker on the said date, the retiral dues be released in the account of petitioner No.1 within a further period of ten days.
