1. The petitioners have filed the present writ application praying for a direction upon the respondent authorities to permit the petitioners to continue and complete the two-years regular D.El.Ed course for the session 2025- 2027 without interruption and dispense the petitioners appointed/entrusted the duty under Section 5 and Section 11 of the Census Act, 1948 as an Enumerator for the Census 2027, Houselisting and Housing Census.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that by an order dated July 29, 2026, this Court has set aside the
order assigning the duty of implementation of the Annapurna Yojona as well as the training for the Census-2027 issued by the respondent authorities taking into
consideration that the
2 petitioners are pursuing their D.El.Ed course as a regular student for the year 2025-2027. In spite of the said order, the respondent authorities have assigned the duty to the petitioners as enumerated for the Census.
3. Now the respondent authorities have handed over the
order dated August 18, 2026 issued by the Charge Officer, Census 2027 wherein the teachers who are pursuing the D.El.Ed course have been exempted from the Census duties in connection with the Census 2027.
4. Considering the communication dated August 18, 2026 issued by the Charge Officer, Census 2027, this Court finds that the grievance of the petitioners has been taken care of by the respondent authorities by exempting the petitioners from the Census duties in connection with the Census 2027, accordingly, no further order is required to be passed.
5. Accordingly, WPA 20376 of 2026 stands disposed of.
