(Oral) The prayer in the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction to the respondents to provide adequate security to the petitioner in view of the grave and eminent threat to his life. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner is the Head of an organization-Yuva Morcha of Shri Hindu Takht Bharat because of which he is facing threats since the year 2023. He makes reference to phone calls received on 06.01.2023 and 31.01.2023, pursuant to which, two DDRs bearing No.50 dated 06.01.2023 and DDR No.28 dated 31.01.2023 were registered at Police Station Division No.2, Jalandhar. He contends that an FIR No.11 dated 02.03.2025 under Sections 25, 25(1-B)(a) of the Arms Act, 1959 and Sections 113(1) and 113(3) of BNS, 2023 at Police Station State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Amritsar stands SUKHPREET KAUR 2026.07.22 15:05 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document chandigarh CRWP-5967-2026 (O & M) registered against multiple accused. During the investigation of the said FIR, one Jagroop Singh made a disclosure statement that the petitioner- Pawan Sharma was the intended target. He, therefore, prays that appropriate protection be granted to the petitioner. 3. The learned counsel for the State, on the other hand, contends that the last complaints made by the petitioner were in the year 2023, pursuant to which, DDR Nos. 50 dated 06.01.2023 and DDR No.28 dated 31.01.2023 already stand registered. The FIR No.11 dated 02.03.2025 under Sections 25, 25(1-B)(a) of the Arms Act, 1959 and Sections 113(1) and 113(3) of BNS, 2023, Police Station State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Amritsar, has no concern with the petitioner inasmuch as he is neither a witness nor is a person aggrieved in any manner. The police is regularly conducting patrolling in the area in which the petitioner is residing. Therefore, the present petition is liable to be dismissed. 4. I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. 5. Admittedly, the last complaints lodged by the petitioner were in the year 2023 in which he stated that he is receiving death threats. Pursuant to the said complaints, DDR No.50 dated 06.01.2023 and DDR No.28 dated 31.01.2023 already stand registered. FIR No. 11 dated 02.03.2025 has no connection with the petitioner. Further, the police is already conducting regular patrolling in the area in which the petitioner resides. 6. In view of the above, I find no merit in the present petition and the same stands dismissed.
