Learned counsel for the petitioner fairly submits that the order of detention was for a period of two years and the same was challenged by way of the instant Habeas Corpus Petition. He submits that the period of detention has expired today, i.e., 17.09.2026. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, in view of the expiry of the period of detention, the present petition has been rendered infructuous and be disposed of accordingly, with a direction to the respondents to act in accordance with law. 3. Accordingly, in view of the submissions made, the instant Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous, with a direction to the respondents to release the detenu forthwith, if not required in connection with any other case, and to strictly act in accordance with law.
