Gupta, Mr. Sreyash Kumar Singh …for the State The accused and the de facto complainant are both present before this Court. This application has been filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, seeking quashing of the proceedings arising out of Jorasanko Police Station Case No. 114 dated June 18, 2026, corresponding to G.R. Case No. 630 of 2026, under Sections 78(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The de facto complainant/victim and the petitioners/accused have jointly approached this Court by filing the present revisional application. It has been submitted that the de facto complainant is no longer desirous of proceeding with the criminal case, as the disputes between the parties have been amicably resolved. It has further been submitted that the parties entered into a settlement agreement dated July 2, 2026. The said settlement agreement forms part of the records of the present revisional application. 2 Having regard to the principles laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the judgment reported at (2014) 9 SCC 653 (Yogendra Yadav v. State of Jharkhand), this Court finds it appropriate to exercise its inherent jurisdiction in the facts and circumstances of the present case. Accordingly, the proceedings arising out of Jorasanko Police Station Case No. 114 dated June 18, 2026, corresponding to G.R. Case No. 630 of 2026, under Sections 78(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, are hereby quashed in view of the amicable settlement arrived at between the parties. Consequently, CRR 3239 of 2026 stands disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
