The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant the pay scale to the petitioners as per the Service Rules applicable to the post of the petitioners i.e. pay scale of Rs.10300- 34800+3600 grade pay (Rs. 35400/- Level 6 as per 7" CPC) and for payment of the arrears of the salary alongwith interest 18% from the date the amount became due till the date of payment to the petitioners in the interest of justice. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he will be satisfied in case a direction be issued to the respondent/State to decide the legal notice/representation dated 09.04.2026 (Annexure P-3). 3. Without commenting upon the merits of the case, respondent No. 2 – Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, is directed to decide the legal notice/representation dated 09.04.2026 (Annexure P-3), after providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and by passing a speaking order within a period of eight weeks from receipt of certified copy of this order. A copy of the said speaking order shall be supplied to the petitioner within one week thereafter. 6. The petition in the aforesaid terms stands disposed off.
