Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than 1 year 6 months and there is no possibility of the trial concluding in near future. As such, petitioner may be released on bail. Learned advocate appearing for the de facto complainant opposes the prayer for bail and submits that evidence of the victim is fixed on 29.08.2026. Learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail and draws the attention of the Court to the statement of the victim recorded under Section 183 of BNSS. Having considered that the date for evidence of the victim is fixed on 29.08.2026, at this stage, I am not inclined 2 to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. Petitioner would be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail after evidence of the victim is completed before the learned Trial Court. Memo of Evidence submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record. The application for bail, being CRM (M) 950 of 2026, is, thus, disposed of.
