The Court: Affidavit of service is taken on record. The petitioners have preferred the present petition under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal for conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and publication of the arbitral award. This Court vide order dated 08.12.2022 had appointed a learned sole arbitrator to adjudicate the disputes between the parties. The pleadings were completed on 27.03.2023. Thereafter, with the consent of the parties, the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal was extended for a further period of six months till 17.09.2024. Subsequently, this Court vide orders dated 05.11.2024, 26.06.2025 and 17.12.2025 further extended the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by six months, six months and three months respectively.

Learned counsel for the parties submits that the final arguments have been concluded and that the matter is now listed for publication of the arbitral award. Upon consideration of the submissions of the parties and the materials placed on record, this Court is satisfied that there has been no undue or unwarranted delay on the part of the learned sole arbitrator in conducting the arbitral proceedings. Having regard to the advanced stage of the proceedings and in the interest of justice, the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal is extended for a further period of three months from today. The learned sole arbitrator is requested to make all reasonable endeavours to publish the arbitral award within the extended time period. With the aforesaid directions, the present petition stands disposed of.
