Petitioners have approached this Court with the present writ petition, inter alia, seeking direction upon the concerned police authority which would permit them to hold a rally and street corner meeting on 2nd August, 2026 in terms of their e-mail letter dated 15th July, 2026 which was addressed to Officer- in-Charge, Amta Police Station, Howrah. 2. Since proposed programme is scheduled to be held on 2nd August, 2026 in terms of e-mail letter dated 15th July, 2026, writ petition is taken up for consideration out of turn in view of urgency in presence of learned advocates representing petitioners and State respondents. 3. Learned advocate representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 26th July, 2026 of Officer- in-Charge, Amta Police Station, Howrah and same is taken on record. 4. It is disclosed in the said communication dated 26th July, 2026 that on appraising present situation concerned police authority has decided not to permit [2] petitioners to hold rally following a route having alignments of Gazipur Co-operative Bank More and Gazipur Hattola. In the same breath, it is also disclosed in the said communication that petitioners can organize rally from Betai Bazar to Jagalgori More under Amta Police Station. 5. In consideration of the stand taken on behalf of concerned police authority, petitioners shall be permitted to hold rally and street corner meeting on 2nd August, 2026. Said rally shall be organized on the route from Betai Bazar to Jagalgori More under Amta Police Station subject to following conditions: i) Programme including rally and street corner meeting shall be organized in between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM; ii) Number of participants shall be not more than one hundred and fifty (150); iii) Participants in the said programme shall adhere to sound limits and no loudspeaker shall be used; iv) Participants shall be permitted to use hand mic. 6. 6. Concerned police authority is directed depute adequate police personnel in order to maintain law and order situation and to see that no untoward incident takes place during the said programme. 7. With the aforesaid directions writ petition stands disposed of. 8. Learned advocate representing petitioners is directed to communicate this order to the Officer-in-Charge, [3] Amta Police Station, Howrah without waiting for server copy of the order. 9.
