In Re: An application for bail under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023. In connection with DRI/KZU/NDPS/ENQ- 74/2025 dated 19/08/2025 under Sections 8(C)/21(b)/28/29 of the NDPS Act. In the matter of: Majid Ali @ Majit Ali …Petitioner. Mr. Niladri Sekhar Ghosh Ms. Laboni Sikder Mr. S. Dey …for the petitioner. Mr. Koushik Dey Mr. Tapan Bhanja Mr. Gourab Karmakar …for the DRI.
Let bail application being CRM(NDPS) 1363 of 2026 be de-tagged. Records reflect that in the present case there was alleged seizure of 64.87 grms of Cocaine. Having regard to the fact that the petitioner’s alleged complicity is for other reasons and the seizure was from separate persons. Additionally, the complaint has been submitted before the jurisdictional Court and the petitioner is in custody for 11 months and the trial of the case would take some time to be taken to its logical conclusion. In spite of the objection raised by the DRI, I am inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Thus, prayer for bail of the petitioner is allowed.
