(Oral) 1. Present are the bunch of appeals, the details of which are mentioned in the heading involve common question of law in the context of common set of facts and thus they are being decided by a common order. For the sake of convenience and better understanding, the facts are drawn from CWP No.24051 of 2014 (O&M). 2. In the present bunch of petitions, the grievance being raised by the petitioners is for setting aside the Notification No.GSR.22/Const./Art.309/Amd(1) 2010 dated 26.05.2010 (Annexure P-1) issued by the office of respondent No.1 vide which an amendment has been made in Punjab Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, Junior Engineers (Group-C), Service Rules, 2006 so as to merge the cadres of Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Mechanical). 3. Learned State counsel submits that after following all the rules and regulations, the Rules were amended in the year 2017 to declare each wing, i.e. Mechanical, Civil and Electrical, as separate wings. Thus, the prayer raised in the present bunch of petitions already stands accepted by virtue of the amendment of the Rules and, therefore, the present bunch of writ petitions have been rendered infructuous. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner(s) has not been able to dispute the said fact. SAPNA GOYAL 2026.07.21 17:24 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CWP-24051-2014 (O&M) and other connected cases -4- 5. Keeping in view the above, the present bunch of petitions may kindly be disposed of as having not been pressed any further, as the grievance raised by the petitioner(s) has already been redressed in view of the subsequent amendment of the Rules in the year 2017, which has not been challenged and which shows that the amendment was made in order to remove the grievance raised by the petitioner(s). 6. As the main petitions are disposed of, no order is required to be passed in the Contempt Petitions and the same are also disposed of accordingly. 7. Civil miscellaneous application pending, if any, also stands disposed of. 8. Photocopy of this order be placed on the files of the connected cases.
