In the matter of : Pallab Mozumder @ Pallob Majumder @ Pallav Majumdar
… Petitioner(s)
Mr. Sekhar Kr. Basu, Sr Adv. Mr. S. S. Ray
… for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Koustav Lal Mukherjee
… for the State-respondent(s)
Learned Senior advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 16th May, 2026 and has been implicated in the present case out of rivalry. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and emphasizes on the conduct of the present petitioner. However, State is unable to produce any material regarding the antecedent of the present petitioner. Having regard to the period of detention of the present petitioner, I am of the opinion that further custodial detention of the present petitioner is unwarranted. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Allowed.
2 Accordingly, the petitioner viz, Pallab Mozumder @ Pallob Majumder @ Pallav Majumdar shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thousand only), with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the Learned CJM, Howrah. As the investigation of the case is in progress, the petitioner shall once in a week meet with the Investigating Officer of the case till the charge-sheet and/or report in Final Form is submitted before the learned jurisdictional court. Accordingly, CRM (M) 1583 of 2026 is allowed. Memo of evidence submitted be kept with the record. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
