In Re : Ramprasad Roy @ Bapan
... Petitioner.
Ms. Pampa Dey (Dhabal), Ms. Sangita Banerjee
... For the Petitioner.
Mr. Subrata Mukherjee, Mr. Sanjib Das
... For the State.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 29.11.2025. Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there are no eyewitnesses. However, certain recoveries of blood stained wearing apparels were made on the leading statement of the present petitioner. I find that prosecution has relied upon 22 witnesses in order to prove its case and till date, charges have not been framed. The other accused are similarly placed in respect of the materials appearing in the case diary. Having regard to the same, I am inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is allowed. Accordingly, the petitioner viz., Ramprasad Roy @ Bapan shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of
2 Rs.20,000/-, with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bishnupur. If on bail, the petitioner shall be physically present on each and every date before the learned Trial Court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of the district of Bankura without prior permission of the learned Trial Court. The application for bail, being CRM (M) 1594 of 2026, is, thus, disposed of. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
