AD 84 July 29, 2026 Ct. 35 SG CRM(NDPS) 1505 of 2026 Dismissed An application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Kaliachak P.S. Case No.2130 of 2025 dated 31.12.2025 under Sections 21(c)/27(A)/29 of the NDPS Act, 1985. And In the matter of: Selim Sk … petitioner Mr. Sekhar Kumar Basu, Sr. Adv. Mr. Diptangshu Basu … for the petitioner Mr. L. Kumar Mr. Soumalya Dutta … for the State Learned senior counsel representing the petitioner submits that initially there was recovery of 7 kgs of brown sugar. Subsequently, during the period of police custody there was seizure of 567 gms of heroin. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that huge quantity of heroin has been recovered. Having regard to the fact that the petitioner is in custody for 6 months and charge-sheet has been submitted before the jurisdictional court, I direct the trial court to exhaust the process of law, if there are absconding persons and overcome the stage of considering the charges. The trial court would ensure that priority is given to the examination of seizure list witnesses in the case. 2 With these observations and directions, CRM(NDPS) 1505 of 2026 is dismissed. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of requisite formalities. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
