1. This is an o,ce reference.
2. This Court, vide order dated 09.02.2026 passed in MCRC No. 1379 of 2026, while rejecting the bail of the petitioner, namely, Shahrukh Khan, had expressed its trust that the trial Court would make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of passing of the
order, if there was no legal impediment.
3. The learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ambikapur, KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN
2 District Surguja (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 05.08.2026 has requested for grant of one month’s additional time for concluding the trial.
4. It transpires from perusal of the P.U.D. that the case is presently at the stage of prosecution evidence and the evidence of 15 prosecution witnesses have already been recorded. The Investigating O,cer, examined as Prosecution Witness No. 16, is a material witness, whose remaining cross-examination is yet to be completed. However, owing to his visit to Mumbai, his evidence could not be concluded. Accordingly, the learned trial Court has sought extension of time and has prayed for grant of a further period of one month for completing the remaining evidence and concluding the trial and Bnal disposal of the case.
5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of one month from the date of receipt of a certiBed copy of this order.
6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed o6 with the aforesaid direction.
7. Registry is directed to send a certiBed copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/- (Ramesh Sinha)
