D/L19 30.01.2026 Bpg. rejected. C.R.M. (NDPS) 169 of 2026 In Re: An application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Dewandighi Police Station Case No.6 of 2025 dated 14.01.2025 under Sections 20(b)(ii)(c)/25/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and charge-sheet submitted under Sections 20(b)(ii)(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985; Sanjoy Raha Versus The State of West Bengal Mr. Arnab Chatterjee Mr. Amanul Islam Mr. Sourav Mukherjee Mr. Avik Ghosh Mr. Gourav Roy. …for the petitioner. Mr. Ranabir Roychowdhury Mr. Ratul Ghosh. …for the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the subject matter of the case relates to recovery of 71.9 kgs. of ganja and the petitioner is in custody for 1 year 22 days. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that commercial quantity of contraband has been recovered. On an assessment, I find that rigors of Section 37 of the NDPS Act is attracted. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM(NDPS)169 of 2026 is rejected. Petitioner would be at liberty to approach this Court after 2 the evidence of the seizure list witnesses are over. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
