And In the matter of : Rajesh Chawdhury @ Chaudhuri & Ors. - Petitioners. Mr. Sanjay Saha, Mr. Subham Ghosh, Mr. Mayank Roy, Mr. Sunil Roy ….For the Petitioners. Mr. Janardan Periwal, Ld. JPP., Mr. Reshab Kumar, Mr. Rajdeep Das … For the State. 1. The petitioners pray for pre-arrest bail in connection with Jaigaon Police Station Case No.58 of 2026 dated 06.03.2026 under Sections 108 and 3(5) of the BNS, 2023. 2. The petitioners submit that they are in no way connected with the family of the deceased. The petitioners belong to the maternal side of the family of the stepmother. The problem, if any, was between the deceased and the stepmother, with regard to property. 3. The learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for pre- arrest bail on the ground that the brothers of the stepmother instigated the problem between the deceased and his 2 stepmother. They abused the deceased, which led the deceased to commit suicide. They are all named in the FIR. 4. The petitioners, by their support and involvement in the family affairs, not only deprived the deceased of his legitimate dues, but also threatened the deceased. 5. Considering the materials-on-record and the stage of investigation, the petitioners are to cooperate with the investigation and meet the investigating officer within 5 days from date. The petitioners will not leave the jurisdiction of Jaigaon police station. 6. Let the matter appear on 10th August, 2026. 7. If this order is complied with and the petitioners meet the investigating officer as directed hereinabove, no coercive action will be taken against the petitioners until further orders. In default, the police may proceed according to law. 8. All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. (Shampa Sarkar, J.)
