ORDER:
1. The petitioners are aggrieved by the action of the respondents in not releasing the payments for the works i.e., i) Extension of distribution pipeline in BR Nagar 8th ward near (from EPNO. 5521/B8/R3 to SS 37/A4/1 in Amadalavalasa Municipality through the Agreement No. /2017- 2018, dated 30-07-2018 for an amount of Rs.7,43,551/-, ii) Extension of distribution pipeline in Ward No.4 (from SS 28A16/3 of Voosavanipeta to SS2/A6/2) to Gedelavanipeta in Amadalavalasa Municipality through the Agreement No. 89/2017-2018, dated 16-02-2018 for an amount of Rs.1,97,947/-, iii) Extension of distribution pipeline in 18th ward from SS 27/A9 to SS 7/A9/Ri, Kothaveedhi, Boddepallipeta in Amadalavalasa Municipality through the Agreement No. 29/2017-2018, dated 12-10-2017 for an amount of Rs.3,46,114/-, iv) Extension of distribution pipeline in Ward No.15 (from SS19/B5 to SS 23/A11) in Amadalavalasa Municipality through the Agreement No. 63/2017-2018, dated 05-07-2017 for an amount of Rs.1,35,583/- and v) Extension of pipeline in Voosavanipeta Village in Ward No.3 in Amadalavalasa Municipality through the Agreement No.90/2017-2018, dated 16-02-2018 for an amount of Rs.1,02,778/- totaling an amount of Rs.15,25,973/-.
2. The learned counsel further submits that the petitioners duly executed all the works and thereafter submitted final and the final bills were duly endorsed by the competent authority. A statement detailing the works

executed by the petitioner was prepared, progress of the work was recorded in the M-book. However, in spite of the completion of all procedural formalities, the payment towards the completed works has not been released till date.
3. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioners, the learned Government Pleader for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, the learned Standing Counsel for the Municipality and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Finance and Planning.
4. During the course of hearing, on written instructions, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents does not dispute the submissions made by the petitioners with respect to the completion of the work undertaken and that the non-payment of bills is due to paucity of funds.
5. Considering the submissions, the concerned respondents are hereby
directed to verify and release the payments due payable to the petitioners as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
