The second respondent has filed a status report giving details of the lease granted to the fifth respondent for a period of two years with effect from 02.03.2026 to 01.03.2028, under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Minor Minerals Concession Rules, 1959. The relevant paragraph reads as under: “3. It is hereby submitted that as per the proceedings in Rc.No.213/Mines/2025 dated 02.03.2026, a minor mineral quarry lease for gravel was granted to the 5th respondent over an extent of 1.65.50 hectares of patta land in S.F.Nos.471/29 (0.13.5), 471/40 (0.24.0), 471/42 (0.22.0), 471/43 (0.06.0), https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No.14924 of 2026 471/44 (0.06.0), 471/45 (0.25.5), 471/46 (0.06.0), 471/47 (0.25.0), 471/48 (0.13.5), 471/49 (P) (0.24.0) of Keezhmampattu Village, Panruti Taluk, Cuddalore District for a period of 2 years from 02.03.2026 to 01.03.2028 under the provisions of Rule 19(1) of Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concession Rules 1959, for completing the execution of balance works for four laning of Vikravandi to Sethiyathope Section (from 0.0 to km 65.96) of NH 45C in Tamil Nadu under NHDP Phase IV after exercising all statutory provisions stipulated in the governing Act and Rules.” The aforesaid decision has already been communicated to the petitioner on 03.06.2026. It would be open to the petitioner to challenge the license, if so advised. In view of the status report filed by the second respondent, no further adjudication is necessary in this petition.
