Order on Board 19.08.2026
1. By way of the present writ petition, the petitioners have prayed for a direction to the respondents to consider and decide their pending applications for map subdivision (Batankan) and correction/entry in the online revenue portal in respect of their respective lands situated at Village Kaurinbhatha, P.H. No.38, Tahsil and District Rajnandgaon.
3
2. Following reliefs have been prayed in this petition:-
“(i) That, the Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the concerned respondent authorities to decide pending applications dated 12.09.2025 for seeking map subdivision (Batankan) and entry on online portal of land within stipulated time, in the interest of justice. (ii) Any other relief, which the Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case may also be granted in favour of the petitioners.”
3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, referring to the pleadings and grounds raised in the petition, submits that the petitioners are the registered owners and are in possession of their respective lands. It is submitted that the concerned Tahsildar, after verification of the revenue records and the report of the Patwari/Revenue Inspector, has already passed orders directing correction of the online map. Despite such orders, the applications submitted by the petitioners for map subdivision (Batankan) and necessary entries in the online portal have not been decided since the year 2025. It is, therefore, prayed that the competent authority may be directed to consider and decide the pending applications within a fixed time.
4. Learned State counsel, appearing for the respondents/State authorities, submits that the pending applications of the petitioners shall be considered by the competent authority in accordance with law. It is submitted that, if a time-bound direction is issued by this
4 Court, the authority shall take an appropriate decision on the applications on their own merits.
5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record.
6. From the pleadings and documents placed on record, it appears that the petitioners have submitted applications before the concerned revenue authorities seeking map subdivision (Batankan) and necessary entry/correction in the online revenue portal and that the said applications are stated to be pending
consideration.
7. Since the grievance of the petitioners is confined to non-
consideration of their pending applications, this Court does not deem it appropriate to express any opinion on the merits of their claim. The competent revenue authority is required to consider the applications in accordance with law and on the basis of the relevant revenue records and orders already passed in the matter.
8. Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioners, the competent authority is directed to consider and decide the applications filed by the petitioners for map subdivision (Batankan) and necessary entry/correction in the online revenue portal, in accordance with law, within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5
9. Needless to say, the competent authority shall pass an appropriate and reasoned order after considering the relevant revenue records and orders passed by the competent authorities.
10. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition stands
disposed of.
11. No order as to costs.
