1. Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

Learned advocate representing petitioner prays for direction upon the concerned police authorities to arrest accused persons and take certain other steps in Gaighata Police Station Case No. 528 of 2026 dated 12th June, 2026 under Sections 85/351(2)/316(2)/3(5) of BNS 2023 read with Sections 3/4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. It is also submitted that a protection may be granted to the petitioner.
3. State respondents and respondent nos. 4 to 7 are represented by learned advocates.

From the case made out in the writ petition it transpires that dissatisfaction is expressed regarding manner of investigation carried out by the concerned police authorities in Gaighata Police Station Case No. 528 of 2026 dated 12th June, 2026. If petitioner is not satisfied with the steps taken by the concerned police authorities while investigation aforesaid criminal prosecution in that event petitioner needs to approach jurisdictional Magistrate in pursuit of remedy. In this regard reliance is placed on the judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court reported in 2026 SCC OnLine SC 798 (Sujal Vishwas Attavar and Anr. Vs. State of Maharashtra and Ors.)
5. However, case is made out that petitioner apprehends threat at the instance of accused persons requiring protection.
6. Concerned police authorities are directed to provide protection to the petitioner, if occasion so arises.
7. Writ petition stands disposed of.
8. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
