ORAL ORDER The petitioners – accused Nos.1 to 6 are before this Court calling in question proceedings in C.C.No.11798/2023, pending before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Rural Court, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru, for the offences punishable under Sections 324, 504, 506 and 149 of the IPC. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners and respondent No.2 in unison would submit that during the pendency of the present proceedings, the parties to the lis have settled their matrimonial dispute amicably by drawing up certain terms and conditions before the concerned Court in M.C.No.6798/2022. They have parted their ways. They are before this Court seeking quashment of the proceedings by permitting them to compound the offences. The parties have filed an interlocutory application under Section 320 of the Cr.P.C., and a certified copy of the memorandum of settlement. 3. The application reads as follows:

“3. The Petitioner and the Respondent state that they have no children born to them from the said marriage. 4. The petitioner has agreed to pay a sum of Rs.15,00,000/-(Rupees Fifteen Lakhs Only) to the Respondent towards all her claims of maintenance / permanent alimony as full and final settlement by way of Demand Draft/Banker's cheque bearing No.579754 dated 09.04.2026 drawn on State Bank of India, Bharath Nagar Branch, Bengaluru and the same will be handed over to the Respondent before the Hon'ble Court at the time of reporting settlement for which the Respondent has agreed. 5. The Petitioner has agreed to return the following gold and silver valuables to the Respondent at the time of reporting settlement before the Hon'ble Court. Gold Items: i. Bracelet 1 No.s ii. 7. The parties herein state that they have no claims over the movables/immovable's belonging to each other at present or to be acquired in future in view of this agreement. 8. The Petitioner and the Respondent state that apart from the above they have no other claims of any nature whatsoever, against each other, whether past, present or in future. 9. In view of this settlement arrived between the parties that the parties have agreed to withdraw/close/quash the following cases in accordance with law within three month from the date of decree:

i) Crl.Misc.No.311/2023 filed by the Respondent against the Petitioner pending on the file of CJM, Bengaluru Rural. ii) C.C.No.6684/2023 fled by the Respondent against the Petitioner pending on the file of 24th ACJM, Bengaluru. iii) C.C.No.11798/2023 filed by the Respondent against the Petitioner's family members pending on the file of CJM, Bengaluru Rural District, Bengaluru. iv) M.C.No.389/2023 filed by Respondent against the Petitioner pending on the file of this Hon'ble Court. v) Crl.P.No.3164/2025, Crl.P.No.3038/2025 and Crl.P.No.6819/2023 pending on the file of High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru. 10. Both the parties have agreed that they shall co- operate with each other in closing/quashing C.C.No.11791/2023 pending before CJM, Bengaluru Rural District, Bengaluru. 11. Both the Parties admit and agree that there is no collusion or force, fraud and undue influence in agreeing/ settling the aforesaid terms and conditions and entering into this Agreement in the aforesaid manner. 12.
Both the parties state that without pressing on the allegations levelled against each other either orally or expressly arrived at this agreement. 13. Both the parties have consented to non-disclosure of private facts in public in any/all forms such as private conversations, messages, videos. Both the parties undertake not to disclose information, whatsapp chats, or any other documents in any form

relating to each other which may be in their custody of either party. Both parties herein undertake that they shall restrain themselves from making any statements/ allegations against each other in any public/social forum/platform. 14. Both the parties admit that they shall not interfere in the lives of each other in future. III. In view of the aforesaid agreement entered into between the parties, the parties pray that this Hon'ble Court be pleased to dissolve the marriage solemnized on 25.02.2021 at B.K.Kalyana Mantapa, Bhavasar Bhavan, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru by granting a decree of divorce in terms of this agreement. IV. Parties will appear on 25.04.2026 before the Hon'ble Court for passing of orders in terms of the agreement.”
In the light of the fact that the parties have arrived at settlement and since it is a marital dispute, I deem it appropriate to accept the application and terminate the proceedings against the petitioners, as the allegations are not against the State. 4. For the aforesaid reasons, I pass the following:
ORDER (i) The criminal petition is disposed.

(ii) The proceedings in C.C.No.11798/2023, pending before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Rural Court, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru, stand quashed.
