And In the matter of: Pranayeeta Das ….Petitioner. Mr. Sourav Ganguly Mr. Gopal Roy Ms. Rishita Chakraborty …for the Petitioner. Mr. Avrojyoti Das, Ld. APP Ms. Smita Mitra Sinha Mr. Nigam Mittal … for the State. The petitioner prays for pre-arrest bail. The petitioner is one of the 37 accused persons who was allegedly present at the place of occurrence and who allegedly participated in the commission of offence. The incident occurred on the date of the publication of the result of the last assembly election. The petitioner is an elected member of the Zilla Parishad. The petitioner will meet the investigating officer within 11 am on July 30,2026 and cooperate with the investigation. If such direction is complied with no coercive measures will be taken against the petitioner. In default, police may take steps. It appears that the role of the petitioner in the alleged offence transpired from the statement of the victim which was recorded under Section 183 of the BNSS.
