Learned advocate representing the West Bengal State University has produced documents from Acharya Prafulla Chandra College to show that the petitioner’s attendance in the examination for clearing backlog paper of the subject English - semester-I on 2nd January, 2026 has been marked as ‘absent’. 2. Learned advocate representing Acharya Prafulla Chandra College also submits a list of candidates who were marked absent in the examination on 2nd January, 2026. The name of the petitioner is reflected in serial no.2 of the said list which shows that the petitioner was marked as ‘absent’ in the examination held on 2nd January, 2026. 2 3. It appears from the submission made on behalf of all the parties that the petitioner is to clear only one backlog paper (English) in respect of semester- I. The petitioner still has time and opportunity to appear in the examination and clear the same. 4. The petitioner appearing in-person submits that she will appear in the next examination which is scheduled for clearing the English paper. 5. In view of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of with the observation that the University and the College shall permit the petitioner to appear in the backlog English examination (semester-I) as and when the same is held. 6. All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 7. Certified server copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on compliance of all requisite formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
