None appears for the respondent nos.6 to 10, despite of service. 3. The petitioner complains of in connection on the part of the respondent/CESC Authorities in granting electricity supply to the petitioner’s residential premises, despite the petitioner having paid the requisite charges therefor. 4. It is submitted that the petitioner had applied for electricity connection and paid the MASD bill raised by the CESC Ltd. as far back as on May 20, 2026, but despite such payment, electricity has not been supplied to the petitioner. It is the petitioner’s case that the petitioner followed up by a representation dated June 30, 2026, which has 2 2 been received by the CESC Authorities on July 2, 2026 but the situation has still not changed. 5. Learned Advocate appearing for the CESC Limited submits that the electricity authorities are ready and willing to effect supply in favour of the petitioner but they could not execute the job in view of the objection raised by the private respondent. 6. It is submitted that although there is no written objection raised, yet the officials of CESC Ltd. were physically prevented from effecting supply in favour of the petitioner. 7. Having heard the learned Advocate appearing for the parties and having considered the material on record, this Court is of the view that CESC Ltd should effect electricity supply to the petitioner’s premises. 8. Since the private respondents are not represented and it has been submitted on behalf of the CESC Ltd. that they have not been able to effect supply in favour of the petitioner, due to resistance put up by the private respondents at the relevant site therefore, the Officer in-charge, Rajabagan Police Station is directed to provide adequate police assistance to the CESC Authorities, in case CESC Authorities approach the said officer for the purpose of the effecting supply in favour of the 3 3 writ petitioner. The cost of such police assistance would be borne by the petitioner. 9. Since it has been submitted by CESC Authorities that some more time may be required for effecting supply due to technical requirements like cable laying etc., therefore CESC Authorities should effect supply in favour of the petitioner within the period of 4(four) weeks from the date 10. WPA 17448 of 2026 stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. 11.
