27.07.2026 Court No.35. D/L. 282. Kausik (Rejected) CRM (M) 1543 of 2026 In Re: An Application for Bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023/ Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 in connection with New Township Police Station Case No. 110 of 2024 dated 02.06.2024 under Section 376(2)(n)/313/506 of Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of POCSO Act. And In the matter of : Prasanta Pandit ……Petitioner. Mr. Pronojit Roy Mr. Debasis Mitra Mr. Priya Chakraborty ……for the Petitioner. Mr. L. Vishal Kumar ……for the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits petitioner is in custody for about 2 years 2 months and he is innocent of the charges being falsely implicated. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail. I have taken into account the statement of the victim under Section 183 of the BNSS as well as the deposition before the Court. Having considered that there is hardly any deviation, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage. 2 However, State would put in efforts to conclude all the relevant witnesses within a period of 6 months. At this stage, prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (M) 1543 of 2026 is dismissed. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
