Opposite Parties Mr. S.P. Das, ASC CORAM: JUSTICE BIRAJA PRASANNA SATAPATHY Order No. ORDER 18.02.2026 04. 1. This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement (Virtual/Physical) Mode. 2. On the oral prayer made by the learned Senior counsel appearing for the Petitioner, he is permitted to implead State of Odisha, represented thorough its Addl. Chief Secretary, Home Department as Opposite Party No.1 in Court today. 3. Heard learned counsel for Petitioner and learned counsel for the State-Opposite Parties. 4. The present Writ Petition has been filed inter alia with the following prayer:- “In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, it is most humbly prayed that this Hon’ble Court may graciously be pleased to admit the writ petition call for records after hearing parties and direct the opposite parties to correct the Service Book of the petitioner by considering the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation Certificate i.e. 29.01.1969 which was wrongly recorded in this service book 15.06.1966. And such further direction / order as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit in the interest of justice. And for this act of kindness, the Petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray”. 5. Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the request made to Opposite Party No.1 under Annexure-4-Series, more particularly communication dtd.19.08.2025 to the writ petition is pending, but till date nothing has been done in the matter. In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to Opposite Party No.1 to take a decision on the above noted request within a specific time period. 6. Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs Opposite Party No.1 to take a decision on the above noted request dtd.19.08.2025 so available under Annexure-4-Series in accordance with law on or before 30.04.2026. Petitioner is directed to provide a copy of this order and letter dtd.19.08.2025 before Opposite Party No.1 for compliance. 7. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of.
