The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition alleging inaction on the part of the respondent authority in not considering the petitioner’s application dated 07.02.2026 seeking transfer from Jigabari Junior Basic Primary School, Mekhliganj Circle, District- Coochbehar. 3. Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was appointed as an Assistant Teacher in Jigabari Junior Basic Primary School, Mekhliganj Circle, District-Coochbehar vide appointment letter 2 dated 02.12.2003. Learned Counsel further submits that he is residing approximately 115 kilometers away from the place of work. He states that the distance from his residence to the school is causing his inconvenience, particularly since he has the responsibility of his aged mother who is completely dependent upon the petitioner. He further states that his application dated 07.02.2026 has still not been considered by the competent authority. 4. Learned Counsel for the respondent No.6 submits that the authority shall consider the representation of the petitioner. 5. Learned Counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner shall be satisfied if the same is decided within a time bound manner. 6. Considering the submissions advanced by the learned Counsel for the parties and perusing the materials on record and without entering into the merits of the claim of the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent No.6 to decide the petitioner’s representation dated 07.02.2026 within a period of eight weeks from date in accordance with law and the relevant rules by way of speaking order. 3 7. It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the claim of the petitioner. If the application of the petitioner for transfer is allowed, the necessary consequential steps shall be taken without any further delay. 8. With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition stands disposed of. 9. Since no affidavits have been called for, all allegations made in the writ petition shall be deemed to have been denied. (Gaurang Kanth, J.)
