Heard Sri K Jeevan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, Sri K Nageshwarappa, learned High Court Government Pleader appearing for respondent No.1, Sri Ganesh N Swamy, learned counsel appearing for respondent No.2 and have perused the material on record. 2. During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties to the lis have settled the dispute among themselves and have

filed a joint memo along with an affidavit. The joint memo reads as follows:
"JOINT MEMO IN CRL.P.NO.7590/2026"
1. That the above Criminal Petition filed by the petitioner /accused No.1 seeking to quash the chargesheet filed by the Basavangudi Women Police the respondent No 1 herein against the petitioner and petitioners in Crl P No 1334/2022 for the alleged offences punishable under section 498A, 506 of I.P.C and section 3 & 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act
2. That the parties have amicably settled their dispute before the Mediation Centre in M.C No 5040/2018. In the memorandum of settlement at para 9 the respondent No 2 gave her undertaking that she will co-operate with petitioner for closing/quashing the case C.C. No 16126/2021 pending before the trial court. The copy of order, decree, and of memorandum of settlement are produced along with the petition at Annexure 'C' to 'E' respectively. 3. That the petitioner herein is the husband and respondent No 2 is the wife and the dispute between them is only a matrimonial dispute and now they have amicably settled their dispute. That this Honourable Court has every discretion to quash the chargesheet in view of the settlement arrived between the parties in the above case. Wherefore, it is prayed that this Honourable Court may kindly pleased to quash the chargesheet filed in C.C.No 16126/2021 on the file of XXXIII A.C.J.M Bengaluru for the offence punishable under section 498A, 506 of I.P.C and section 3 & 4 Dowry Prohibition Act in the interest of justice."

chargesheet filed by the Basavangudi Women Police the respondent No 1 herein against the petitioners/accused No 2 to 4 for the alleged offences punishable under section 498A, 506 of I.P.C and section 3 & 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act. 2. That the accused No 1 and the respondent No 2 here who are the husband and wife have amicably settled their dispute before the Mediation Centre in M.C No 5040/2018. In the memorandum of settlement at para 9 the respondent No 2 gave her undertaking that she will co-operate with petitioners for closing/quashing the case C.C. No 16126/2021 pending before the trial court. The copy of order, decree, and of memorandum of settlement are produced along with the petition at Annexure 'C' to 'E' respectively in the connected petition Crl.P No 7590/2026 filed by accused No 1 husband of Respondent No 2 herein. 3. That the accused No 1 is the husband and respondent No 2 is the wife and the dispute between them is only a matrimonial dispute and now they have amicably settled their dispute. That this Honourable Court has every discretion to quash the chargesheet in view of the settlement arrived between the parties in the above case. Wherefore, it is prayed that this Honourable Court may kindly pleased to quash the chargesheet filed in C.C.No 16126/2021 on the file of XXXIII A.C.J.M Bengaluru for the offence punishable under section 498A, 506 of I.P.C and section 3 & 4 Dowry Prohibition Act in the interest of justice."

In the light of the settlement arrived at between the parties, I deem it appropriate to accept the joint memo and

close the proceedings against the petitioners in the subject petition. 4. The crime so registered against these petitioners as well as the charge sheet so filed pursuant to the crime in CC No.16126 of 2021 stands quashed. 5. For the aforesaid reasons, the following:
ORDER (i) Criminal Petitions are disposed.
(ii) Proceedings in CC No.16126 of 2021 pending before the XXXIII Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate at Bangalore, qua the petitioners, stands quashed.
