Som, learned counsel for the accused applicant, and Mr. K. K. Parasar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State of Assam. 2. This is an application under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) for granting regular bail to the applicant in connection with North Lakhimpur P.S. Case No. 435/2025, under Sections 11(1) (d) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. 3. An FIR was lodged on 09.12.2025 by one Priyamjyoti Phukhan, an Animal Lover stating that there has been a large-scale disappearance of stray dogs from various localities of North Lwakhimpur town. Being an animal lover, he made inquiries into the matter and found that several dogs had gone missing in the same week. In view of the aforesaid, he filed the FIR before the North Lakhimpur Police Station regarding the missing gods. 4. Upon receipt of the FIR, police registered Lakhimpur P.S. Case No. 435/2025 under the aforementioned Section. During the investigation, the police recovered three (3) stray dogs from the possession of the accused applicants. The police forwarded the accused applicants to the learned CJM, North Page No.# 3/4 Lakhimpur, Assam on 06.02.2026 and since then, the accused applicants have been in judicial custody. 5. Learned counsel for the accused applicants submits that the accused applicants are in no way connected to the aforesaid allegations of missing dogs. Rather, they kept the dogs of the out of affection and were not involve in selling or consuming them. 6. Since, having heard the submissions made by the learned counsel for the accused applicants and also taken into account the materials brought before court, this court is of the view that the accused applicants should be granted bail at this stage. Accordingly, it is directed that the accused applicant shall be released on bail forthwith upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thounsand) each with a surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, North Lakhimpur, Assam subject to the following conditions: i. That the accused applicants shall cooperate with the investigation; ii. That the accused applicant shall appear before the investigating authority as and when required; iii. That the accused applicant shall not Page No.# 4/4 directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person, who may be acquainted with the facts of the case, so as to dissuade such person from disposing such facts before the investigating authority against the accused applicants; 7.
