JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER The petitioner is before this Court, seeking the following prayer: "a. Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the learned XI (10th) Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, - 3 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010461822026 NC: 2026:KHC:37255 WP No. 20920 of 2026 Mayo Hall Unit, Bengaluru City, to expedite the trial and dispose of C.C.No.24577/2012 arising out of Crime No.0016/2011 (Annexure - 'A') (Annexure - 'B'), within a time frame as may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court; b. Direct the learned XI (10th) Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Mayo Hall Unit, Bengaluru City, to take up the matter on priority and conclude framing of charges, recording of prosecution evidence, including the examination and cross- examination of the prosecution witnesses, within a time-bound schedule to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court. c. Direct the learned Trial Court to not grant unnecessary adjournments, except for unavoidable reasons recorded in writing, as may be deemed fit by this Hon'ble Court; d. Pass such other or further orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the interest of justice and equity." 2. Heard Sri. Nagaraj R., learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Smt. Rashmi Patel, learned HCGP appearing for respondent No.1 and have perused the material on record. 3. A crime is registered in the year 2011 and the charge sheet is filed in the year 2012, notwithstanding the passage of 14 years, the concerned Court is dragging the proceedings on one pretext or the other or granting an - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010461822026 NC: 2026:KHC:37255 WP No. 20920 of 2026 umpteen number of adjournments without any rhyme or reason. 4. Therefore, to infuse finality, I deem it appropriate to direct the concerned Court to dispose the subject proceedings within an outer limit of two (2) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if not earlier.
