Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that there has hardly been any progress in the trial and the earlier order rejecting the bail reflects that prosecution was to complete 10 witnesses within 15th of May, 2026. Learned advocate appearing for the State has produced the report of the investigating officer which reflects that although, examination-in-chief of 5 witnesses are over but it is the petitioner who has preferred application under Section 231(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure for deferring the cross-examination and cross- examining all the witnesses at a stretch after the examination-in- chief is completed. 2 Having considered the option exercised by the accused/petitioner, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage. Petitioner will approach this Court after the cross- examination of all the witnesses are over. Accordingly, CRM (M) 1495 of 2026 is dismissed. Report submitted by the State be kept with the record. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
