Date of Decision : 15.07.2026

…. PETITIONER V/S
State of Punjab & others
…. RESPONDENTS
CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAMESH CHANDER DIMRI Present : Mr.Raghav Taneja, Advocate, for the petitioner.
**** RAMESH CHANDER DIMRI, J. (Oral)
1.
FIR in the present case was registered on 09.05.2026, that too under Sections 118(1) and 118(2) red with Section 3(5) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Through the present petition, the petitioner contends that a representation Annexure P-1 made by him may be decided so as to expedite the investigation in the FIR.
2.
Keeping in view the fact that FIR in question relates to the above-mentioned offences coupled with the fact that only a period of 2 months has elapsed since the date of registration of the FIR, I am of the considered opinion that at this stage of the proceedings, no direction is required to be issued to the official respondents. However, it is observed that effort shall be made to complete the investigation at the earliest possible.
3.
With the above-said observations, the present petition is dismissed. All interim application/s stand disposed off.
