Learned counsel for petitioner would submit that Petitioner is an Inspector of Police at Vepery, Chennai. He was falsely implicated in Crime No.399 of 2022 which was originally registered under Sections 363, 506(1), 511 IPC and later altered to Sections 364(A), 506(1), 511 IPC. 3. Learned counsel would further submit that Petitioner held Passport No.J4038280, which expired on 23.01.2021, following which a new Passport bearing No.V1307772 was issued. The said passport was lost and petitioner lodged a complaint on 07.01.2025, for which the petitioner received a Lost Document Report bearing No. PP944202500027. The petitioner has applied for reissue of his passport vide Application File No.MA2077301327925. 4. The petitioner was served with a notice dated 22.02.2025, calling upon the petitioner to offer an explanation regarding certain adverse remarks set out therein. However, no order has been passed. It is in such circumstances, the Writ Petition came to be filed. 5. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that petitioner's request would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed after issuing notice to petitioner, within a time period to be stipulated by this Court after considering petitioner’s reply. Agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner. 6. In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner’s request on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after issuing notice and after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner and on considering petitioner’s reply/response within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy of the order.
