None appears for the respondent nos. 5 to 8 despite service. 3. The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction of the respondent CESC authorities in effecting electricity supply to the petitioner’s residential premises. 4. The petitioner has invited the attention of this Court to an order dated November 14, 2025 passed by the learned Civil Judge (Junior Division), 6th Court at Howrah in Title Suit No. 658 of 2025 whereby the Inspector-in-charge of Santragachi Police Station had been directed to provide necessary police assistance at the time of effecting electricity supply to the petitioner’s premises. It is submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner that the respondent nos. 5 to 8 are the defendant nos. 2 to 5 in Title Suit No. 658 of 2025. 5. Mr. Mukherjee, learned advocate appearing for the 2 CESC authorities submits that the CESC Limited has attempted to effect supply to the petitioner’s premises but the same could not be done in view of stiff resistance that was put up at the relevant site by the respondent nos. 5 to 8. 6. Mr. Mukherjee, further submits that by a letter dated June 16, 2026, CESC Limited has intimated the petitioner about CESC Limited’s inability to effect supply due to the resistance faced by it and has requested the petitioner to either take refund of the amount paid on the MASD bill or inform the CESC authorities upon taking appropriate steps to enable them to execute the job of effecting supply. 7. Heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and considered the material on record. 8. It appears that the petitioner is in settled position of the property whereat, electricity connection has been sought. The CESC authorities are willing to supply electricity to the petitioner. However, CESC Limited has been unable to effect supply only due resistance at the instance of the respondent nos. 5 to 8. 9. In such view of the matter, the respondent no. 4 i.e. the Officer-in-charge, Santragachi Police Station is directed to provide appropriate police assistance to the CESC authorities to enable the CESC authority to effect electricity supply in favour of the petitioner 3 at the petitioner’s residential premises within a period of four weeks from date. The petitioner shall bear the costs for the police assistance. 10. With the above observations, WPA 14681 of 2026 stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 11. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities. (Om Narayan Rai, J.)
