IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH 110 CWP-20900-2026 Date of Decision : July 13, 2026 AMAN MANN -PETITIONER V/S STATE OF HARYANA AND OTHERS -RESPONDENTS CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE KULDEEP TIWARI Present: Ms. Swati Tiwana, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Saurabh Girdhar, A.A.G, Haryana. *** KULDEEP TIWARI, J. (ORAL) 1. The grievance propelling the petitioner to institute the instant writ petition stems from the indolent and lackadaisical approach of the competent authority in deciding the petitioner’s application dated 26.11.2025 for the grant of an arms licence. 2. At the outset, the learned State counsel, who has received an advance copy of the writ petition and represents the respondents, submits that he has no objection to the issuance of directions to the competent authority to decide the petitioner’s application within a time-bound period. 3. In view of the above, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority amongst the respondents to take a final decision on the petitioner’s application for the grant of an arms licence, in accordance with law, within eight weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. DEVINDER YADAV 2026.07.15 13:21 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment CWP-20900-2026 2 4. Liberty is also reserved to the petitioner to seek revival of the instant writ petition in the event the authority concerned fails to comply with the directions issued hereinabove.
